Stirling Creamery primarily follows conventional practices but they also have a Certified Organic line of butter.
Stirling Creamery firmly believes that butters can have distinct and unique flavour profiles, much like cheese. Over 85 years ago, they began with just a single churn and two steam powered pasteurizers.
Nowadays, they have a robust and varied butter collection, which they continue to barrel churn! Barrel churning allows for the butter to stay rich and not get ‘overworked.’ This process results in a very creamy, ‘old fashioned’ style butter that adds depth and richness to the dishes you craft. Using local, fresh cream they make their unsalted and salted, organic, churn 84 and whey butters.
Stirling Creamery is now owned and operated by Gay Lea. Gay Lea is farm owned cooperation that began in 1958, with over 1,200 farm partners.
